1595: The publication of Mysterium Cosmographicum marks a pivotal stage in the history of science: the transition from mystical astrology to predictive physics. Although Kepler’s starting point is deeply rooted in a theological vision of a harmonious and geometric Universe, his approach is revolutionary. For the first time, an astronomer does not merely describe how the planets move, but seeks to understand why they occupy these precise orbits. It is in this work that he formulates the pioneering insight that a driving force emanating from the Sun (a precursor to gravity) is responsible for the motion of the celestial bodies.
