1675: Death of Stanisław Lubieniecki (born 1623), Polish astronomer and historian. His monumental work, the Theatrum Cometicum, is one of the most extensive illustrated encyclopedias of its time, chronicling nearly 600 comets observed from the biblical Flood until 1665. This colossal compilation provided astronomers of subsequent centuries with a precious historical database for the study of comets and their orbits.
