1930: The planet Pluto, discovered a few months earlier, officially receives its name. This choice, inspired by the Roman god of the underworld capable of making himself invisible, reflects the location of this celestial body at the dark edges of the solar system. Although reclassified as a "dwarf planet" in 2006, it remains a major object of study for understanding the Kuiper Belt.

2005: Ronald Van der Linden becomes Director of the Royal Observatory of Belgium. For the first time in its history, the institution is led by a solar physicist, highlighting the strategic importance of studying the Sun in modern astronomy and the protection of our technologies.
