1851: Birth in Schaerbeek of Charles-Émile Stuyvaert (died 1908), Assistant Astronomer at the Royal Observatory of Belgium. Alongside Louis Niesten, he distinguished himself through his detailed observations of Mars and the satellites of Jupiter, as well as a significant series of "Drawings of the Moon" published as large lithographic plates in the Annals of the Royal Observatory of Brussels. Before the era of high-precision photographic atlases, these selenographic drawings were counted among the major references for the study of lunar relief.
