In 1897 The mission for Antartica starts with the departure of the Belgica from Antwerp towards South-America. On board, the captain lord de Gerlache is leading and second in command Georges Lecointe, scientist of the Observatory, is coordinating the observations.

On 16th of August 1989, a solar flare from the Sun creates a geomagnetic storm that affects micro chips, leading to a halt of all trading on Toronto's stock market.
